5 Trends My Boyfriend Doesn’t Like

The other day, I walked into my boyfriend’s house in my I-need-to-do-laundry work outfit. He looked at me and said, “you look like someone in the future who is trying to dress really cool but missing the mark.”

Wow. Okay. I guess I’m never wearing my (workout) leggings to work again. But maybe that’s a good thing.

I then started asking him things he likes and doesn’t like that I, and other women, wear.

Here’s what he said…

1. Wedges

2. Jeggings

“I don’t get it, just wear jeans!”

3. Rompers

4. Capris

5. Big Belts

I don’t agree with him on wedges, I’ve seen some BEAUTIFUL wedges and I’ve seen some cute rompers. But, basically the rest of this list I agree with.

Wedding Fashion

I have been invited to my first wedding! I’ve been to weddings in the past, but those were all family or family friend’s weddings. For the first time, I will be attending my friend’s wedding. I’m so excited!

The wedding isn’t until June, which means it will be an early summer wedding (perfect dress weather). I probably won’t actually get a dress for the wedding until May, but I’m excited to think about the possibilities. I don’t really know guest-of-wedding-dress-etiquette, but I figure as long as I stay away from anything white or too short, I should be good.

Any excuse to buy a new dress is good for me, and I don’t get to go to events that require new dresses too often, so this will be a nice change.

My Favorite Fall Trend

Sweater weather means the beginning of one of my favorite trends; shorts, tights and boots. For the longest time, I was afraid to try to this trend, but as I liked it more and more, I figured it was time to give it a try.

My go to combination is a pair of denim shorts, black textured tights and black riding boots. I then throw on one of my casual sweaters or long sleeve shirts.

One of the best things about this trend is that you can wear a pair of denim shorts for a more casual look or a pair of tweed shorts for a dressier look. Depending on what you pair your shorts with, your outfit can be appropriate for anything from brunch to a night out to a day at the office (well, if you work in a casual environment).

The shorts and tights look doesn’t end at boots either, try it with a pair of leather oxfords or a pair of plain flats.

Pants are still worn in the summer, so why can’t shorts still be worn in the winter?
